Resplendent

Word of the Week

I really like this week’s word. I am not sure if I heard the word while listening to a novel or if I read it in a novel over the last several weeks. Either way, it is somewhat of a sophisticated word and I want to use it more often! I feel like resplendent is a great way to describe a beautiful view. The rising or setting of the sun is a time when the word resplendent could be used as a description.

Resplendent : shining brilliantly : characterized by a glowing splendor¹

This is how I would use the word in a sentence:

The sun’s resplendent rays coming through the thinning clouds after the storm created a luminous blue hue against the sky
